The dyntray.exe process is an executable program file that is used by the DynDNS Updater software in conjunction with other EXE application resources, certain modular DLL (Dynamic Link Library) modules, some SYS driver utilities, specific background and system process items among other components that are distributed with the dyntray.exe process and bundled into the installer distribution packages of the DynDNS Updater program. This software is classified as a Windows application developed by Dynamic Network Services with a set of features that can allow users with dynamic Internet connections to map their dynamic IP addresses provided by their ISPs (Internet Service Providers) to the static IP addresses of Web servers owned and operated by Dynamic Network Services via a unique domain name or subdomain name. The dyntray.exe process is specifically deployed as an executable resource component of the DynDNS Notification Icon module, and this module is responsible for implementing an icon in the Windows System Tray that users can click on to access the features integrated into the DynDNS Updater program.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dyntray.exe. is used by DynDNS Updater and DynDNS Notification Icon Module, If you shut down dyntray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dyntray.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is DynDNS Updater and DynDNS Notification Icon Module, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as DynDNS Updater and DynDNS Notification Icon Module, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
