DAEMON Tools Pro is virtual DVD-ROM emulator based on a SCSI miniport driver, which emulates max. 36 DVD-ROM drives and works with CD/DVD images created by many burning programs. It is recommended for users of notebooks without physical CD/ DVD-ROM drives to speed up CD/DVD access and save akku power. DAEMON Tools Pro has advance imaging features that enable users to create or edit images using the Image Editor, create images of the selected type (CD or DVD disc) with preferred file system like UDF and ISO9660 + Joliet, and burn created images to media discs. It also has the capability to burn images with RMPS data. It can emulate up to 32 DT and SCSI devices, use four virtual IDE devices for advanced emulation, mount images to physical IDE/SATA devices with advanced attaching functionality, and perform image mounting to local NTFS folders.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dtproshellhlp.exe. is used by DAEMON Tools Pro, If you shut down dtproshellhlp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dtproshellhlp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is DAEMON Tools Pro, from your system.
