The executable file dtlite.exe is an installer of the Daemon Tools Lite, a software program that provides users with tools to mount images for discs on a virtual drive. The provision of the virtual drive allows you to save all your images without taking up space on your computer. Image extensions supported by the software include the following: .mdx, .mdf, .iso, .bwt, .ccd, .isz and .nrg. A CD, DVD and Blu-Ray backup tool is also included in the software. Backups are likewise stored in the program’s virtual drive. The software can be downloaded for free, and can be used on computers that run on Windows OS. The program runs as a background process, unless it is disabled. The file is stored in the subfolder, C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe. No reports on CPU hogging have been found, but running it in the background could affect speed of other computer processes. Users disable the program and only enable it when they want to use it.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dtlite.exe. is used by Daemon Tools Lite, If you shut down dtlite.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dtlite.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Daemon Tools Lite, from your system.
