The file dot3svc.dll, known as Wired AutoConfig Service, belongs to software Microsoft windows Operating System. Wired AutoConfig Service is a service that configures the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 802.1X port-based security settings on IEEE 802.3 Ethernet adapters. Ethernet is the most widely used local area network (LAN) utility that uses coaxial cable or special grades of twisted pair wires. The process dot3svc.dll service is responsible for performing IEEE 802.1X authentication on Ethernet interfaces or the LAN architecture that supports data transfer at varying speeds. The interface allows the computer on the Ethernet network to access controllers and send messages or status information to computers or devices capable of receiving emails. If the wired network deployment that is used enforces 802.1X authentication, the Wired AutoConfig Service should be configured to run for establishing Layer 2 connectivity or providing access to network resources. Wired networks that do not enforce 802.1X authentication are unaffected by the dot3svc service.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dot3svc.dll. is used by Windows Operating System, If you shut down dot3svc.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dot3svc.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Windows Operating System, from your system.
