Drive Letter Access Component, or DLA Component, is the service name of the file dlashx_w.dll, a type of dynamic link library, which is a part of the program Drive Letter Access, also Sonic DLA, or Roxio DLA, or Sonic UDF Reader, and is created by Sonic Solutions or Roxio. This file is associated with the software that enables a user to access and manage writeable CDs and DVDs, through the use of a drive letter. This kind of software product is mostly pre-installed on some computer brands, including Hewlett Packard (HP) and Dell computers. Also, this is a program that is used as similar as a hard drive. Basically, dlashx_w.dll is an essential component that needs to continuously run in the background, and must not be terminated at all, because it can disable its function, but if it is causing errors or problems that affect the computer system performance, it has to be deleted immediately, and re-installed, if necessary.
