DirectShow is a multimedia framework that is used to perform various operations with media files and stream. The K-Lite Codec Pack allows users to play almost all of the movies downloaded from the Internet. It is always up-to-date with the latest versions of the codecs, has a customizable installation that users can change according to the preferred components, and is well-tested to ensure that there are no conflicting codecs. Designed for power users and those who do their own encoding, K-Lite Codec Pack Full has encoding support for various formats.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. divxsm.exe. is used by K-lite Codec Pack Full, If you shut down divxsm.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop divxsm.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is K-lite Codec Pack Full, from your system.
