The discagnt.exe file is known by different service names, which are HP Enterprise Discovery Agent (in versions 2.51.000.7275, 2.52.000.7292), HP OpenView Discovery Agent version 2.1.0.5435, and is a module that is a part of the program Peregrine Discovery Agent ,or HP Enterprise Discovery Agent, or HP OpenView Discovery Agent, which is produced by Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P, or Peregrine Systems. When downloaded onto the computer, laptop, or notebook, this file is automatically installed, registered into the Windows registry, stored on a folder location, and run in the background. It is not advisable to terminate or stop this particular process, because it has its own specific task that completes the overall functionality of the program. Other than that, discagnt.exe has a digital signature (VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer - G2) from Hewlett-Packard (HP) Company. This file process works with most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, which include Windows 7, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. discagnt.exe. is used by HP Enterprise Discovery Agent or Peregrine Discovery Agent or HP OpenView Discovery Agent, If you shut down discagnt.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
