What is  dexplore.exe

To access Microsoft’s offline MSDN libraries, the program, Microsoft Document Explorer should be installed. The executable file dexplore.exe is included in the Visual Studio installer, and can be installed separately. It functions as a Help viewer to access How-To guides, learn about coding, troubleshoot technical issues and read other relevant documents stored within the MSDN offline libraries. Microsoft Document Explorer is customizable. Users can change the font size and color, modify the Toolbar, and assign shortcut keys. The file dexplore.exe is a standalone file that can be uninstalled, and doing so will not affect the normal processes of the Windows Operating System. The file is automatically installed in the Windows Program Files and can found in the following location: C\Windows\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Help\Share 9. The file uses minimal space on the CPU, taking up only 2% of CPU usage when in use. It runs as a background process when Visual Studio is being used. It should automatically shut down when Visual Studio is no longer in use.
