The destract.exe process is normally found in the System32 sub directory under the Windows directory of the system partition. The destract.exe process initializes during system startup and displays a pop-up window that prompts the user for certain actions, such as allowing it to activate or make some changes to the system, according to many reports from Windows 7 users. They also reported that each time they selected "NO" from the options, the destract.exe process again displays the same message box. This is why the destract.exe process has been flagged as a possibly harmful application and should be properly removed from the system as soon as possible. There are also variants of the destract.exe process reported to have infected other widely used versions of Microsoft Windows, such as Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. destract.exe. is used by destract.exe , If you shut down destract.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
