Basically called as Dell.UCM, the file dell.ucm.exe is a process that is included in Dell ControlPoint (DCP) Connection Manager, which is a multi-purpose utility program, and developed by Smith Micro Software. Also known by the name Dell Universal Connection Manager, Dell ControlPoint Connection Manager features a manager called Security and System Manager, that is used to allow a user set up and automate his or her network connections, as well as profiles, through a single utility with easier and quicker access. This manager also replaces various old utilities so there is a new configuration of network connections and their settings. As its name suggests, a user can manage wireless connectivity (WiFi), dial up, mobile broadband, wired or Ethernet (DSL or cable broadband), Internet browser and security, virtual private network or PVN, map network drives, Bluetooth, and other types of connections. This program is bundled in most Dells laptops and notebooks. All the functions of the software are enabled due to the processes that come with it, including the dell.ucm.exe file.
