These firmware components and device driver software utilities are embedded with support for widely used versions of Microsoft Windows. The cy_bg.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of these motherboard firmware resources and drivers, in order for these utilities to assist in the integration of the connectivity features embedded in these Cypress USB host adapters, controllers, USB I/O chipsets and ports into the Windows-based system. The cy_bg.exe process is specifically deployed into the Windows-based computer by these Cypress firmware components and drivers as the executable program dispatcher file of the Cypress USB Mass Storage Driver background application, which is a small program built into these Cypress firmware resources and device driver software utilities.
