What is  curslib.dll

The curslib.dll file has been identified by the anti-malware tools of many users as a malicious BHO (Browser Helper Object) associated with the Mal/Generic-A program and the Win32/Bamital.B application, both of which are families of Web browser hijackers known to infect unprotected Windows-based computers with missing OS security certificates, outdated Web browsers and an unsecured Windows System Registry. These users claim that the curslib.dll malware is distributed with EXE component processes that have autorun functionalities, which are implemented by these executable component files upon its initial placement and activation in the unprotected system, and this is said to allow these EXE component files to create and inject keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry. These registry strings are said to enable the curslib.dll malware and its EXE components to automatically initialize during system startup, to operate as hidden or cloacked background processes during system runtime, and for the curslib.dll malware to be capable of latching itself unto the Web browsers of the system, especially outdated ones that are installed in unprotected computers with missing OS security certificates, whenever the user is browsing the Internet. These users also reported that the curslib.dll malware BHO is capable of hijacking the results of queries performed by users in Internet search engines by redirecting the URLs of the search results to websites embedded with adware components that are associated with the curslib.dll malware. These websites are said to be managed by the authors of the curslib.dll malware and are also claimed to be integrated with ActiveX controls that enable these malicious sites to secretly deploy these adware items into the unprotected Windows-based computer of the user. Other user groups claim that their system security tools flag the curslib.dll file as a malware item related to the Hacktool.Rootkit program, which is a family of Trojans and backdoor rootkits.
