The ctxsbxhook.dll process file, or CTXSBXHOOK, is bundled with software Citrix Presentation Server or Citrix MetaFrame developed by Citrix Systems. Citrix XenApp is the new name for Citrix Presentation Server. The software is a thin client product that enables users to connect to their corporate applications. XenApp utilizes central servers to host applications that users can access remotely. Users can also stream and deliver these applications to devices for local execution. Its application hosting technology uses a thin client protocol, the Independent Computing Architecture (ICA). The ICA relays high-level window display information instead of plain graphical information. The software is built on top of the Windows Terminal Server platform developed by Citrix in the early to mid 1990s. XenApp is in direct competition with the Systancia AppliDis Fusion, Ericom Software WebConnect, Quest Software vWorkspace, Spoon Server and Microsoft Terminal Services for Windows Server 2008.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ctxsbxhook.dll. is used by Citrix Presentation Server, If you shut down ctxsbxhook.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ctxsbxhook.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Citrix Presentation Server, from your system.
