The software is built on top of the Windows Terminal Server platform developed by Citrix in the early to mid 1990s. XenApp is in direct competition with the Systancia AppliDis Fusion, Ericom Software WebConnect, Quest Software vWorkspace, Spoon Server and Microsoft Terminal Services for Windows Server 2008.
