The ctmix32.exe file is an executable component process of the firmware resources and device driver software utilities that are bundled with Creative Sound Blaster devices, which are soundcards or audio adapter cards developed by Creative Technology for compatible motherboards of Windows-based computers that are equipped with supported PCI slots. This means the ctmix32.exe process is integrated into the system upon the installation of these Creative Sound Blaster audio adapter card device driver utilities and firmware components, which can be distributed as pre-installed resources in certain desktops and laptop computers, or via downloadable standalone installer packages. The ctmix32.exe file is specifically deployed into the system by these Creative Sound Blaster soundcard drivers and firmware utilities as the Creative Mixer Loader process, which activates the Creative Mixer application in the system upon the execution of the ctmix32.exe file. The creative Mixer application is responsible for placing an icon in the Windows System Tray and for integrating user access functionalities to the equalizer, volume control and other audio-related control panel options of the Creative Sound Blaster audio device into this Windows System Tray icon.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ctmix32.exe. is used by Creative Sound Blaster Firmware/Driver Software and Creative Mixer Application and Creative Mixer Loader, If you shut down ctmix32.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ctmix32.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Creative Sound Blaster Firmware/Driver Software and Creative Mixer Application and Creative Mixer Loader, from your system.
