What is cpush.dll
The cpush.dll file has been reported by many users as a malicious application classified by their anti-malware tools as a variant of the Win32/Sogou program, which is a family of obtrusive adware items packaged as BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) and Web browser hijackers known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with missing OS security certificates, outdated Web browsers, unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and an unsecured Windows System Registry. The cpush.dll malware is also said to be distributed with EXE component processes that are capable of creating and injecting keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry, in which these registry keys and entries are reported to instruct the infected system to allow the cpush.dll malware and its executable component processes to automatically initialize during system startup and operate as hidden background processes during system runtime. These users also claim that the cpush.dll malware is capable of contacting remote servers that are managed by its authors by exploiting and using unencrypted TCP/IP network ports that the cpush.dll malware finds in the unprotected Windows-based computer, especially those with outdated OS security certificates. These same users state that these remote servers instruct the cpush.dll malware to latch itself unto Web browsers of the infected system, especially outdated Web browser versions, in order to display pop-up advertisements while the user is browsing the Internet. These pop-up ads are also said to be related to the user's bookmarked Web pages, frequently visited websites and Internet search engine queries, because some of these users claim that the cpush.dll malware and its EXE component processes are also embedded with the function of covertly gathering private user details and Internet surfing information from the infected system and its Web browsers, in which these details are transmitted to these remote servers for processing. Other user groups claim that their system security applications flag the cpush.dll file as a malicious application associated with variants of the AdWare.Win32.BHO.dvi program and the AdWare.Win32.BHO.dx application, which are families of obtrusive adware items reported to be integrated with spyware functionalities.
