The cpoint.sys process is a component driver file of the Panda Internet Security software, which is a Windows program classified as a system security tool that was developed with a set of features for implementing real time malware monitoring functionalities into the Windows-based computer, and for detecting and blocking potentially malicious applications like viruses, obtrusive adware components, malicious BHOs (Browser Helper Objects), spyware programs, Trojans, backdoor rootkits, worms and other malware items that may cause possible system stability issues, hacker attacks, user privacy risks, data security threats and data loss or corruption. The cpoint.sys driver file is also deployed into the system by the Panda Antivirus+ Firewall software, which is another Windows anti-malware program that can protect PCs against these system problems and data security risks or user privacy threats. The cpoint.sys driver file is specifically integrated into the Windows-based system to assist these Panda system security tools in monitoring, detecting and blocking possible malicious device activity recording functionalities that are implemented by some malicious applications into the firmware and driver software utilities of hardware devices connected to the system, such as the keyboard input and mouse click logging code of certain spyware applications that are classified as keyloggers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cpoint.sys. is used by Panda Internet Security and Panda Antivirus+ Firewall, If you shut down cpoint.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cpoint.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Panda Internet Security and Panda Antivirus+ Firewall, from your system.
