The contextmenu.dll module is integrated with code, instructions and directives that are required by the Acrobat Elements application, which is a program that was developed by Adobe Systems. Also known as the Adobe Acrobat Context Menu process, the contextmenu.dll module is also bundled with version 8 of the Adobe Acrobat software, Professional edition. The functions integrated into the code stored in the contextmenu.dll module are referenced and used by the Adobe Acrobat Elements program and the Adobe Acrobat v8 Professional application. This is done whenever the user requests for access to a set of features that corresponds to certain program files which need to call on the contextmenu.dll process to reference and load the resources stored in this module, in order to provide the user with his or her requested features. Specifically, the main codes and directives stored in the contextmenu.dll module are used for displaying the menu items that are available in the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of the Adobe Acrobat Elements software and the Adobe Acrobat v8 Professional edition program.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. contextmenu.dll. is used by Adobe Acrobat Elements or Adobe Acrobat v8 Professional, If you shut down contextmenu.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop contextmenu.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Adobe Acrobat Elements or Adobe Acrobat v8 Professional, from your system.
