The conscorr.exe process has been identified by the system security tools of many users as a variant of the TrojanDownloader.Win32.Stubby.c application, which is a family of Trojans with spyware functionalities reported to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports, outdated OS security certificates and Web browsers and an unsecured Windows System Registry. These users claim that the conscorr.exe malware is capable of creating and injecting keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry of unprotected systems, and these registry keys and entries are said to instruct Windows to allow the conscorr.exe Trojan to automatically initialize during system startup and operate as a hidden background process during system runtime. These users also claim that the conscorr.exe malware is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports that this Trojan uses to download more malicious applications unto the infected system from predesignated remote servers that are managed by the authors of the conscorr.exe malware. Upon downloading these malicious programs, the conscorr.exe process is said to activate these applications, and some users state that most of these malware items are obtrusive adware programs, malicious BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) and spyware applications that can secretly gather private user details and Internet surfing information from the unprotected Windows-based system and its default Web browser, and these details are said to be transmitted by these malicious applications to the same remote servers where the conscorr.exe Trojan downloaded these malware items, and these remote servers are said to process these details to display relevant pop-up advertisements while the user is browsing the Internet, and to redirect the Web browser's homepage and search page settings to predesignated URLs of websites that are also managed by the authors of the conscorr.exe Trojan or by its associated companies and organizations.
How can I stop conscorr.exe and should I?
Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. conscorr.exe. is used by TrojanDownloader.Win32.Stubby.c, If you shut down conscorr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop conscorr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is TrojanDownloader.Win32.Stubby.c, from your system.
