The connectifyservice.exe process is an executable component file of the Connectify Hotspot software, which is a Windows program classified as a soft AP (software access point) network tool or virtual router application that was developed with a set of features for sharing Internet connection options to other WiFi-enabled devices from laptops or smartphones with wireless network functionalities. This means with the Connectify Hotspot software, users can share the Internet connection options of their smartphones or laptops with other devices that are within wireless connectivity range, and these soft access points or virtual router connectivity options that are shared by their smartphones and laptop computers can be protected by unique passwords or security keys, which can also be generated with the Connectify Hotspot software upon admin user request. The connectifyservice.exe process is specifically deployed into the Windows-based system by the Connectify Hotspot software as the executable program dispatcher file of the Connectify Service application, which is a small program built into the Connectify Hotspot software, and this application operates as a background process while the Connectify Hotspot software is actively running in the system, in order to assist this program in monitoring the status of all devices connected to the wireless Internet access network shared by the user's laptop or smartphone, and in detecting other devices that are within the wireless network range of the user's laptop or smartphone.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. connectifyservice.exe. is used by Connectify Hotspot and Connectify Hotspot Service Application, If you shut down connectifyservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop connectifyservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Connectify Hotspot and Connectify Hotspot Service Application, from your system.
