Many users reported that their anti-malware tools flag the confwmv.dll file as a malicious application upon detecting it in their Windows-based systems, and the log details provided by their system security tools state that the confwmv.dll file is associated with a component or variant of the WORM_STRAT.GEN-3 program, which is a family of worms known to infest unprotected Windows-based systems with outdated OS security certificates and an unsecured Windows System Registry. These users claim that the confwmv.dll malware is embedded with self-replicating functionalities that it implements during system runtime, and this is after the confwmv.dll malware is said to implement its self-activating features during system startup, particularly through keys and entries this malware is said to be capable of creating and injecting into the unsecured Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in the system. These users also state that the confwmv.dll malware places the duplicates it has created into various locations across the infected Windows-based computer, for transmission via email or FTP (File Transfer Protocol)to predesignated remote servers that are managed by the authors of the confwmv.dll malware, and this is said to be done by the confwmv.dll malware once it has exploited certain system vulnerabilities. Other user groups state that their system security tools classify the confwmv.dll file as a malware component or variant of the W32.Stration@mm application, which is another family of worms reported to be integrated with Trojan functionalities.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. confwmv.dll. is used by Trojan/Worm, If you shut down confwmv.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop confwmv.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan/Worm, from your system.
