What is  compob.dll

Many user reports claim that the compob.dll file has been classified by their system security tools as a malicious program associated with a component or variant of the Troj/Rootkit-EW application, which is a family of Trojans known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports, outdated system security certificates or an unsecured Windows System Registry. These same users claim that the compob.dll malware is capable of creating keys and entries into an unsecured Windows System Registry of an unprotected Windows-based computer upon its successful placement and activation in the system via one of its EXE component processes, and these registry keys and entries are said to instruct the system to allow the compob.dll malware to automatically initialize during system startup and for its other EXE component files to operate as a hidden background process during system runtime. These users also state that the compob.dll malware is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and use these to initiate contact with predesignated remote servers that are managed by the authors of the compob.dll malware, in order to download more malicious programs unto the system from those remote servers, or wait for further instructions from those remote servers, which the compob.dll malware will perform in the system upon receipt of those directives. Other users claim that their own anti-malware tools flag the compob.dll file as a malicious program associated with the Win32/Boaxxe.I application, which is another family of Trojans.
