Developed by Symantec Corporation, coh64.exe is the process file for COH Application or Confidence Online Heavy, a security software that protects the system against viruses, malware, Trojan horses, and malicious, unwanted software. It is a common Windows file that is responsible for processing and loading system settings of Windows functions and related applications. Coh64.exe is used by the computer in opening and executing all Windows files which are required to run the software and applications that contain code, data and resources that are designed to load multiple programs all at the same time. COH, the original name for TruScan, stands for Confidence Online Heavy, and later called Proactive Threat Protection or a PTP program. Symantec's TruScan technology facilitates detection of unknown and known malware, analyzing the safe and the negative behaviors of program applications. COH integrates Symantec's sensors to warn users of emerging threats while providing threat advisories as well as online technical support.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. coh64.exe. is used by COH Application, If you shut down coh64.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop coh64.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is COH Application, from your system.
