According to many users, their system security tools flag the cnbncf.dll file as a malicious application associated with a variant of the Adware.Gen program, which is a family of obtrusive adware components reported to infect unprotected Windows-based computers with outdated Web browsers. Other users claim that their anti-malware programs classify the cnbncf.dll file as a component of the AdWare.Win32.VB.ad application, which is another family of adware programs known to have spyware-like functionalities and reported to infect unsecured Windows-based systems with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports. In both instances, these users state that the cnbncf.dll file is integrated with self-activating features that it implements upon the initialization of Windows, and some users claim that the cnbncf.dll file can automatically run during system startup because the system allows it to do so, due to certain keys and entries it can create and inject into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in the unprotected Windows-based computer. These users also claim that the cnbncf.dll file can hijack outdated Web browsers of unsecured Windows-based systems, in order to redirect the homepage and search page settings of these Web browsers to predesignated URLs that point to websites stored in the remote servers of its authors. The cnbncf.dll file is also reported to be capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of an unprotected Windows-based system, in order to display pop-up advertisements while the user is browsing the Internet.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cnbncf.dll. is used by Adware.Gen and AdWare.Win32.VB.ad, If you shut down cnbncf.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cnbncf.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Adware.Gen and AdWare.Win32.VB.ad, from your system.
