What is  cnbabe.dll

The cnbabe.dll file has been reported by many users as a malicious program classified by their system security tools as a component of an AdWare.Win32.CommonName.f variant, which is a family of obtrusive adware items known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and outdated Web browsers. Other users state that the cnbabe.dll file is flagged by their anti-malware applications as a variant of the Adware.CommonName program, which is another family of pesky adware components. In both cases, these users reported that the cnbabe.dll file is capable of hijacking outdated Web browsers that are installed in an unprotected Windows-based system, in order to redirect the search page and homepage of these Web browsers to predesignated URLs that are managed by the authors of the cnbabe.dll file. These users also claim that the cnbabe.dll file is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of the infected system, in order for the remote servers of its authors to send pop-up advertisements while the user is browsing the Internet. A few users suspect that the cnbabe.dll file is also capable of secretly gathering private user details and Internet surfing information from the infected system and its default Web browser, in order to transmit these details to the remote servers of its authors for processing, because these users state that the pop-up advertisements they got while their computers were still infected with the cnbabe.dll adware were relevant to the content of their bookmarked Web pages, search engine queries and regularly visited websites.
