The cmdbksvc.exe process is an executable component file of the Comodo Backup software, which is a Windows program classified as a data backup application developed with a set of features that can allow users to create backup copies of their files and folders, automatically save these backup copies in predesignated local disks, remote servers via FTP and in writeable optical media disks like CDs and DVDs, and to schedule automatic data backups as a Windows service that runs in the background. The Comodo Backup software also enables users to receive email notifications about completed backup schedules and to store backup copies in an online storage space provided by Comodo as a service. The cmdbksvc.exe process is specifically deployed into the system by the Comodo Backup software as the executable program dispatcher file of the Comodo Backup Service application, which is a small program built into the Comodo Backup software, and this application operates as a background process while the Comodo Backup software is actively running in the system, so as to assist in the implementation of data backup tasks scheduled by the user, if any. The cmdbksvc.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the Comodo Backup software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cmdbksvc.exe. is used by Comodo Backup and Comodo Backup Service Application, If you shut down cmdbksvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cmdbksvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Comodo Backup and Comodo Backup Service Application, from your system.
