The cmain.exe file is an executable application process that is implemented into the system upon the installation of firmware utilities and driver software components that are bundled with Canon EOS400D devices, which are digital cameras embedded with synchronization compatibility support for Windows-based systems. The cmain.exe process is deployed into the system upon the installation of these Canon EOS400D drivers and firmware resources, and the cmain.exe process is specifically used by these firmware components and device driver software utilities as the executable program dispatcher file of the Canon Camera Access Library application, which is a small program built into these Canon EOS400D drivers and firmware components, and this application assists in the referencing of a DLL (Dynamic Link Library) module that corresponds with the Canon Camera Access Library application, in order to aid in the implementation of data transmission and driver communication support into the Windows-based system for these Canon EOS400D digital cameras.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cmain.exe. is used by Canon EOS400D Firmware/Driver Software and Canon EOS400D Camera Access Library Application, If you shut down cmain.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
