The process cmagent.exe was created by CyberMedia Inc. as part of their CyberMedia Oil Change Program. This application is used to find and obtain software update information for Windows 95 and Windows 98 operating systems. The cmagent.exe process essentially recognizes the programs in a computer and initiates a search for new updates and enhancements that are downloadable via the Internet. The program also features an option to acquire the information on the new program and replace the old version, and can be set to remember the applications or programs important to the desktop to instantly retrieve information. But before installing any new update or program, the application automatically creates a back-up for the current software.
