The file that launches a process typically known as CyberLink Media Library Service is clmlsvc.exe. This is the executable file that handles all your music files, videos and pictures; organizing these according to file format so you can easily locate your media files, as well as share these to a network of users where the files’ titles and media properties are listed so your shared files will likewise be easily recognized by other users connected to you through a network. Most OEMs will have this file pre-installed on their laptops or desktops, and usually, the file will have been renamed to the name of the manufacturer; although it is still the same one from CyberLink and it still functions in a similar fashion. If you are not using any CyberLink products, or you are not sharing your files via a network; you can prevent the file from running with system boots. It has been reported to take up CPU resources, resulting in slower CPU response to other applications.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. clmlsvc.exe. is used by CyberLink Media Library Service, If you shut down clmlsvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop clmlsvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CyberLink Media Library Service, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as CyberLink Media Library Service, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.

The first thing you should do if clmlsvc.exe. is causing errors on your computer is to run a Windows registry scan with Registry Reviver If you are still seeing errors after this you should uninstall the program that clmlsvc.exe, belongs to, in this case CyberLink Media Library Service
