The ckm.exe process is an executable component file of the Ardamax Keylogger software, which is a Windows program designed with a set of features for recording and logging keyboard inputs and mouse clicks done by the user of a Windows-based system where the Ardamax Keylogger application has been installed and configured to secretly operate as a hidden background process during system runtime. The Ardamax Keylogger software can be used for legitimate purposes, such as system administration and network monitoring tasks for client and server computers that are connected to a local or remote business and enterprise network. Some users flag the Ardamax Keylogger application and the ckm.exe process as malicious applications because of its embedded functionalities, specifically its covert keyboard input and mouse click recording and logging operations, though in a business environment or an enterprise network, client and server activity monitoring can be helpful in implementing security protocols and in optimizing network performance. The ckm.exe file is placed in the Windows-based system upon the installation of the Ardamax Keylogger software.
