The cidlinkadvisor.dll file is a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) module that is deployed into the system by the CA Internet Security Suite, which is a Windows program comprised of a set of system security tools that were developed by Computer Associates International. The applications included in the CA Internet Security Suite software are embedded with features for monitoring, detecting, flagging and blocking possible viruses, Trojans, worms, spam (unsolicited emails), spyware applications, backdoor rootkits and other malicious programs that may cause user privacy threats, system security issues, data security risks, hacker attacks, data loss or corruption. The cidlinkadvisor.dll file is specifically used and referenced by the CA Internet Security Suite software whenever its system security tools are required to integrate its embedded website URL processing functionalities into the system while the user is actively browsing the Internet, in order to protect the system against malware code that may be injected by suspicious or malicious websites via ActiveX controls. The cidlinkadvisor.dll file is placed in the system upon the installation of the CA Internet Security Suite software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cidlinkadvisor.dll. is used by CA Internet Security Suite, If you shut down cidlinkadvisor.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cidlinkadvisor.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CA Internet Security Suite, from your system.
