The checks02.exe process is an executable file that has been reported by many users as a malicious application, and these users claim that the checks02.exe process was flagged by their system security tools as a variant or a component file of the TAGasaurus software. This is a Trojan that has been reported to infect Windows-based systems. The same users state that the checks02.exe process is capable of automatically initializing during system startup, and a few users said this is because the checks02.exe process is capable of creating and inserting keys and entries into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in the system. These registry keys and entries, according to these user reports, are said to instruct the system to allow the checks02.exe process to automatically run during system startup and operate sas a hidden background process during system runtime. These users also claim that the checks02.exe process, while covertly operating as a hidden background process, is capable of searching and exploiting unprotected TCP/IP network ports, in order to use these exploited system vulnerabilities to download more malicious applications unto the infected system from the remote servers of its authors.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. checks02.exe. is used by TAGasaurus, If you shut down checks02.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop checks02.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is TAGasaurus, from your system.
