Some users reported that the cfgmgr3.dll file is a malicious application disguised as a legitimate Dynamic Link Library (DLL) module, and these same users claim that the cfgmgr3.dll file is a variant of the Win32/BookedSpace progam, as classified by their system security tools. The Win32/BookedSpace application is said to be a family of obtrusive adware components. Other user reports state that the cfgmgr3.dll file is a malicious BHO (Browser Helper Object) that displays obtrusive pop-up ads while the user is browsing the Internet, and these same users claim that the cfgmgr3.dll file is capable of gathering Internet surfing information from the default Web browser of the infected system, in order for these pop-up ads to be related to the frequently visited websites, bookmarked Web pages and search engine queries of the user. As a BHO, some users claim that the cfgmgr3.dll file is capable of exploiting unprotected TCP/IP network ports of the infected system, in order to use these network connectivity protocols to initiate contact with the remote servers of its authors and transmit the Internet browsing details that the cfgmgr3.dll file has collected from the infected system and its default Web browser to these remote servers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cfgmgr3.dll. is used by Win32/BookedSpace Adware, If you shut down cfgmgr3.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cfgmgr3.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Win32/BookedSpace Adware, from your system.
