The cfg32a.exe file is an executable process classified as a malicious application associated with the Adware.PStrip program, which is a family of adware components known to infect Windows-based systems, by the system security tools of many users. The cfg32a.exe process is also capable of automatically initializing during system startup because of the entries and keys this malicious program creates and injects into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in the system, according to these users. These user reports state that these registry keys and entries instruct the system to allow the cfg32a.exe process to automatically run during the boot process and continue operating as a hidden background process, in order to find unprotected TCP/IP network ports that it can exploit to display relevant pop-up advertisements of products and special offers in new Web browser windows while the user is browsing the Internet. According to these users, this is done by the cfg32a.exe process in order for the ads it displays to be related to the content of the websites being browsed by the user. Some users claim that the cfg32a.exe process is also capable of gathering private user details and Internet surfing information from the default Web browser and the infected system, in order for these ads to be more related to the content of the user's regularly visited websites, bookmarked Web pages and Google searches, since the cfg32a.exe process has also been reported by these users to be capable of transmitting these collected details to predesignated Web servers that are configured to send these relevant pop-up ads to the infected system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cfg32a.exe. is used by Adware.Pstrip, If you shut down cfg32a.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cfg32a.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Adware.Pstrip, from your system.
