The cfexec.exe file is an EXE application process integrated into the system by the Adobe ColdFusion software, particularly older ColdFusion versions that were distributed before Adobe Systems acquired Macromedia, and this program was still called Macromedia ColdFusion at that time. The Adobe ColdFusion software is a Windows program classified as a Web software and multimedia Web content development tool that is embedded with a set of features for creating, testing, debugging and deploying Web-based applications and Web page elements equipped with interactive functionalities. The cfexec.exe process is specifically deployed as the executable program dispatcher file of the ColdFusion Executive application, which is a small program built into these older ColdFusion software versions. The cfexec.exe process is placed in the system upon the installation of these ColdFusion program versions.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cfexec.exe. is used by Macromedia ColdFusion (older versions of Adobe ColdFusion) and ColdFusion Executive Application, If you shut down cfexec.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cfexec.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Macromedia ColdFusion (older versions of Adobe ColdFusion) and ColdFusion Executive Application, from your system.
