A few users claim that the cdrom_monex.exe process, which is the illegitimate version of the cdrom_mon.exe file, is capable of exploiting unprotected TCP/IP network ports upon its successful placement, activation and automatic initialization during system startup. The same users state that the cdrom_monex.exe process creates and injects keys and entries into the Windows System Registry, in order for the system to allow the cdrom_monex.exe process to automatically run during system startup and operate as a background process while initiating contact with predesignated Web servers that are managed by the authors of the cdrom_monex.exe process, and also while downloading more malicious programs unto the infected Windows-based computer.
