What is  calendar.exe

The executable process file calendar.exe, is identified as Monthly Calendar Utility for Windows, Merak Calendar, or Desktop iCalendar Lite that is part of the software Advanced Searchbar, Merak Mail Server, Desktop iCalendar or HP Backup and Recovery. The process file is created by Gregory Braun-Software Design, Icewarp software or Deskware. The process file calendar.exe is not a Windows core file and is neither is CPU intensive, although it has a visible window, wherein it includes reminders of events and certain holidays like anniversaries, birthdays, tasks and others. The process file is also considered to be customizable that of which the design could be changed into a traditional wall calendar. It begins simultaneously with Windows startup with the Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run, and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run. The process file is found to be located in subfolder C:\Program File with a size on Windows 7/XP of 286,720 bytes with 33% of all incidences, 487,424 bytes and 5 other variants. In functionality, the process file turns the background image around when certain months are changed.

How can I stop calendar.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. calendar.exe. is used by Monthly Calendar Utility, If you shut down calendar.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
