The process that is often associated with the file awc.exe is Advanced Windows Care. It is also known as Advanced System Care. The software that installs the file is from IObit. The typical file location is C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced System Care 3\awc.exe. This is also the command line for startup, written as follows: C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced System Care 3\awc.exe\startup. The program takes care of system maintenance by regularly checking configuration and settings of the system. If it finds system processes that are configured incorrectly, the application calls on modules to address the issue. The file also defragments disk to free up disk space and boost CPU speed. Moreover, it checks the system to identify hijacked processes or system files, if any. The latest version of the software now includes an antivirus application, so not only does the application check registry entries, system files and computer processes, and cleans spyware; it now also acts as a lookout for viruses and other security threats.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. awc.exe. is used by Advanced System Care, If you shut down awc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
