The autosearch.dll file is the process called AutoSearch that belongs to the application AutoSearch Module or Auto Search by Starware or Starware Toolbar. This process file can be found in the subfolder C:\Program Files. The size of the file is 47,104 bytes on Windows 7 or Windows XP operating system. This dynamically linked or loaded file is considered a BHO or browser helper object that automatically runs once your Internet browser starts. Personal firewalls usually do not block BHOs because they are recognized by the firewall as the browser itself. This BHO bears the ID A55581DC-2CDB-4089-8878-71A080B22342 or 35E78239-811E-4c3f-B37D-F339AC16C2C0. It is not a visible program. It can monitor your Internet browser. The autosearch.dll file is not a core file for Windows. It may be a compressed file. Starware Toolbar is an executable program that is supported by advertising and is often installed without the consent or knowledge of the user. It can display advertisements in the form of popup ads, button links, pop-under ads, taskbar bubbles among others. It may slow down your Internet connection due to increased bandwidth usage.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. autosearch.dll. is used by AutoSearch Module, If you shut down autosearch.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop autosearch.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AutoSearch Module, from your system.
