The process related to the executable file is simply written as atksgt, and this installs through the atksgt.sys file. This process is a part of the Tages software, which is a copy protection application for CDs and DVDs. Its function is to prevent software piracy by providing users with an application to digitally-sign their software CDs and DVDs. In like manner, the process related to the Tages application, checks CDs and DVDs inserted in the CD drive to see if these are authentic copies, geared mostly towards CD games. The file can be seen in the folder C:\Windows\System 32\Drivers\atksgt.sys. The most common file size is 271,360 bytes. The file has not been identified as a security risk by users and threat experts. The most common issue that users experience with the file is a system error that occurs when inserting CDs or DVDs, particularly on computer that are installed with the Windows 7 version of Windows OS. It appears that the file prevents users from accessing a number of CDs or DVDs, even if these are legitimate copies.
