The antivirus suite from AVAST installs a process that is usually called avast! WebRep Plugin and the aswwebrepie.dll file is a component of this process. The file is needed to execute an application that will provide users with a security rating for the websites they wish to visit, as displayed in the search results from their search engine. The security rating can give you a clue as to which sites are safe for your computer and which ones could pose security risks to the system. While the process is a huge help in determining website security, there have been several reports from users that the file actually crashes their Internet Explorer. What happens is that when the user launches Internet Explorer, even before they can start surfing the Internet, an application error displays that basically tells the user that IE needs to close or that a certain website has been automatically shut down by IE. It was determined that there were faulty modules contained within aswwebrepie.dll.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. aswwebrepie.dll. is used by avast! WebRep Plugin, If you shut down aswwebrepie.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop aswwebrepie.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is avast! WebRep Plugin, from your system.
