Ares.exe is the executable file for Ares, a peer-to-peer sharing application which provides built-in media player with video screen and an easy to use interface which resembles a combination of Windows Search and the Kazaa Media Desktop windows. The Ares application is an online program as it runs with internet connection. Among the many substantial features of Ares are a power-compact library manager and a shout cast radio that can be used in hosting peer-to-peer chat rooms. The pioneer version of Ares application was an open-source program, a source file page available for modification of anyone. Together with this feature is the customer support to safeguard a source code from plain human error and erratic user behaviors. The Development Group for Ares developed the latest version of the Ares application, the Ares Ultra, the 2006 version specifically designed for downloading MP3s. It contains newer version of the Ares special features which include the auto-filter of corrupt or damaged MP3 files, complete with integrated playlist and full technical support.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ares.exe. is used by Ares, If you shut down ares.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ares.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Ares, from your system.
