The executable process file, agentsvc.exe is also recognized as NtStarter where the application that utilizes this process is NTI Backup Now (version 5 Agent Service) or AgentSvc Application that is part of the software NTI Backup Now (version 5). It may also be known as a Secure Resolutions Anti-Cyber Crime as developed by Secure Resolutions or NewTech Infosystems and is referred to as a user-initialized process. The process file is not considered as CPU intensive as it is found running in the Task Manager as the process agentsvc.exe. The process file agentsvc.exe is not a Windows system file, a Windows core file nor does it have a visible window. It is found to be located in Program, File\newtech Infosystems\Nti backup now 5\client folder where location may differ in other versions and languages of Windows. The process file has a size on Windows 7/XP of 14,336 bytes (54% of all incidences), 16,384 bytes, 31,040 bytes or 17,920 bytes. It basically functions to have the ability to monitor applications.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. agentsvc.exe. is used by NtStarter, If you shut down agentsvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop agentsvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is NtStarter, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as NtStarter, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
