As its service name Cleanup suggests, the adskcleanup.0001 file is a type of module that works in Windows computers, and belongs to the program Macrovision Europe Ltd. Cleanup, also Macrovision Cleanup or simply Cleanup, which is developed by Macrovision Europe Ltd. As a Windows process, this file runs on computers with Microsoft Windows operating systems, such as Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT. The adskcleanup.0001 file is installed on the computer, once the software that houses it is successfully downloaded, and automatically runs during startup or manually when launched by the user. Once this is stored on the computer, the adskcleanup.0001 file is able to run and execute itself, as well as other processes bundled in the program Macrovision Cleanup. If this file is stopped, it cannot launch those modules that call for it, or worse, makes the software disabled and won’t properly work, so this particular process needs to keep running in the background.
