This program file is also recognized as Ask.com Search Assistant that was developed by Ask.com. This file, a9srchas.dll, functions as a Browser Helper Object (BHO) which is executable and runs as the user starts or opens an internet browser. Firewalls do not prevent or stop a9srchas.dll from executing since it is recognized as the user’s browser itself. The Ask.com Search Assistant or the Ask toolbar is an add-on of a certain web browser. It may appear as an extra bar at the end of a user’s web browser. The Ask toolbar allows a user to search the web and ask various questions using this search engine. This program file executes in association with the Internet Explorer versions 6 and higher. This program is not preinstalled and in most cases, the Ask toolbar just installs itself without notice, as the user is installing other software or programs into the computer. This program file has no visible window and is not a Windows system file.
