Developed by Lucent Technologies Communications, an American company that supplies telecommunications equipment, ltmsg.exe process file is the program for incoming and outgoing data call capabilities of the WinModem series, the internal modem installed in computer machines. Based on the Agere chipset, it is the driver used in analog modems. WinModems require software over hardware for launching its communication functionality, which runs upon system startup. Ltmsg.exe drops malicious software upon program execution. The process file is either packed or encrypted using software packing processes and is likewise created as a disk process. Ltmsg.exe was discovered in 2007 being pioneered by The European Union and in geographical regions in Spain, along with several executable program versions seen distinguishable by the differing byte sizes. The current Lucent Technologies phone models being manufactured include cordless and coded telephones as well as multi-line desk telephones. WinModem is utilized in U.S. Robotics and is used to describe other modem types with similar technologies.
