The ipsecmon.exe process is implemented into Windows-based client computers by the SafeNet VPN Client software, which is an application that was developed by SafeNet as a program for integrating client computer access to the VPN (Virtual Private Network) resources that are provided by SafeNet to its subscribers. The ipsecmon.exe process works together with other program files and modules that are required by the SafeNet VPNClient software to correctly work in the system of the client computer where the SafeNet VPN software was installed. The ipsecmon.exe file is normally placed with the other program files and modules of the SafeNet VPN Client application in the same program folder that was created when this program was installed in the system. This is usually a new sub directory that is named "SafeNet VPN Client", which is found under the Program Files directory of the system partition.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ipsecmon.exe. is used by SafeNet VPN Client, If you shut down ipsecmon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ipsecmon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is SafeNet VPN Client, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as SafeNet VPN Client, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.

The first thing you should do if ipsecmon.exe. is causing errors on your computer is to run a Windows registry scan with Registry Reviver If you are still seeing errors after this you should uninstall the program that ipsecmon.exe, belongs to, in this case SafeNet VPN Client
