The imapp.exe process is an instance of an executable file and a Windows process, specifically referred to as IncrediMail Application, or IncrediMail Tray Application, which is a part of IncrediMail, and developed by IncrediMail, Ltd. IncrediMail is a program for email, which a user can use to organize and manage his or her contacts, inbox, and other features of an email. For instance, a user can make contact groups from his or her address book, or assign a photo of each contact. It is certainly a fun and more personalized way of managing an email. Other than those basic email features, this software includes an email search tool, and a user can key-in any emails in fast seconds. All these functions are enabled if the components of the program are working in the background. Thus, the imapp.exe file is an essential part that must remain stored on its folder location on the computer system, and kept running when the software is launched.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. imapp.exe. is used by IncrediMail, If you shut down imapp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop imapp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is IncrediMail, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as IncrediMail, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message.
