The file edsmsnfix.exe, known as eDSMSNFix Utility, belongs to software eData Security by HiTRSUTco. The program eData Security Management provides users with personal data security and encryption for files and data contained in emails and instant messages, which are transmitted through the Internet. It features a password-protected Personal Security Disk (PSD) that can be used for saving confidential data and files. The PSD is invisible when closed, and can be accessed only when the correct supervisor password is entered. By default, eData Security Management encrypts files and messages sent through Windows Live Messenger, while an encryption process that is integrated with Microsoft Outlook and Lotus notes enable encryption of files sent through email. The encrypted messages sent through Windows Live Messenger and emails are self-extracting files that can be easily decrypted by the receiver, even those without eData Security. To decrypt and read the files, the encrypted document is saved into the hard disk and the file extension is changed to 'exe'.
