The dt_startup.exe file is associated with Display Tune software, which is manufactured by Portrait Display, Inc. Once the program is installed, the file process dt_startup.exe is also downloaded since it is bundled with it. It is usually located in the folder C:\Program Files and registered with DT HPO as its run identifier, and the execution command C:\Program Files\Common Files\Portrait Displays\Shared\DT_startup.exe –HPO in the registry HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Also, this file is digitally signed from the manufacturing company, Portrait Displays, Inc. with VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer - G2 as the signature. What this file exactly does is to provide quick access to the monitor settings of the software. Without this file, the user is not able to access and manage the settings of his or her monitor. The dt_startup.exe file is certainly an essential component that completes the associated software, and makes it fully functional. So, any error is potentially because of the deletion or corruption of this particular file.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dt_startup.exe. is used by Display Tune, If you shut down dt_startup.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
