The file dopusrt.exe, known as Directory Opus Helper Application, belongs to software Directory Opus by GP Software. Directory Opus is file management software that help users to manage, organize and locate their files efficiently. It was originally written tor the Amiga computer system, and was rewritten and developed by GP Software for Microsoft Windows operating system when the Amiga version ceased in 1997. Directory Opus search features enable users to locate documents quickly from the single or dual pane file display and trees, and the previewing of documents and images from the viewer pane. This software can help users to find a specific document without wading through a lot of folders and files by using color codes on folders and the assignment of star ratings according to importance or frequency of use. Its other features include internal handling of RAR, ZIP, 7Zip, and many other file formats, FTP handling, advanced FTP and SSH, flat file display that allow users to flatten a folder tree or hide the folders, and powerful file selection and renaming tools, with advanced regex if needed.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dopusrt.exe. is used by GPSoftware Directory Opus, If you shut down dopusrt.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dopusrt.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is GPSoftware Directory Opus, from your system.
